Silverstone Classic 30th July to 1st August 2021

by Robert Neil McLeod

Hello All.

If you are thinking of going to the Silverstone Classic this year, I have just received the Promotional Code for the discount entry price, if you  would like this discount code,  please contact me, giving me your membership number and  I will send you the code. Details of the event are set out below as received from our chairman, Mark Hall.

The code is valid until 31 May 2021 and doesn’t seem to have a stepped discount code relating to when you buy tickets this year. Entries will be more limited than normal as so many tickets have rolled forward form last year.

BOOKING PROCESS

New for 2021, the car club package booking process has been simplified and streamlined, but this does mean that there are a number of changes to it.

In particular:

The unique car club booking code is required at the end of the booking process

instead of the beginning by using the ‘Promotional Code’ box displayed just before

the ‘Pay Now’ button.

  • The car club package price will initially be displayed without a member’s discount.

Entering the code into the ‘Promotional Code’ box and clicking ‘Submit’ will apply

the discount. Prices without a members discount are shown below.*

  • An automated confirmation email will be sent to each member after they have paid

asking them to click on a link to a form to provide their vehicle details: make, model,

registration, year, and colour. Completion of this form will finalise the booking.

*Car club package prices (subject to change with a 7-day notice period):

  • 3-day weekend = £105 (displayed price without promo discount = £210)
  • Friday = £47 (displayed price without promo discount = £78)
  • Saturday = £77 (displayed price without promo discount = £134)
  • Sunday = £65 (displayed price without promo discount = £106)

I will get the advert in the next Mascot, but that will be April’s edition so please share the details with your local members now.

I have also asked that we be considered for a track parade to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Midget. Hopefully the Classic team will confirm this soon.

If members booked tickets for last year these will roll forward to this year unless they asked for a refund.

Fingers crossed it can go ahead this year!

Best wishes

Mark

MASC North West Area looking ahead to better times.

by Robert Neil McLeod

Hi All.

In an attempt to look ahead to better times.

At our last Zoom Meeting in February there was mention of a Club weekend away in September from Friday 10th to Monday 13th , in the hope we will have the all clear from Covid-19 by then. So the Premier Inn at Evesham we thought would be a good starting place, there may be a car event in the area (will know if this is on nearer the time) but if not Evesham is a good location to visit the cotswolds and surrounding areas. If this is something of interest to you and you would like to join in with, the Premier Inn at Evesham is per room which can be booked with breakfast and evening meals for two will be around £285-00 for the three days. Shelley and I have decided to extend the trip and will be heading on the Monday to Tenby for a further four night, staying at The Lamphey Court Hotel which is about 9 miles inland from Tenby Harbour. This is an area we have been promising to visit for sometime. Hopefully the Covid-19 situation will allow us this break, if you fancy taking the extended trip to Tenby, the more the merrier. Do let us know if you intend joining the party and have booked a room. Cheers Neil & Shelley

Zoom Meeting Events?

by Robert Neil McLeod

Hi All.

If you going to joining us this Wednesday on the Zoom Meeting at 8pm, there are a few things I thought we should talk about. Even though this Pandemic seen still determined to take control over our lives, we should fight back with a plan of events for the year ahead.

I have put together a list of events & runs we could take part in, always good to at least have a plan.

  • MG Midget 60 , We are still hopeful, but will make a decision in April whether it can go ahead or not.
  • Events I have already booked the club in for. Tatton Park Classic Car shows , both weekends 5/6th June & 21/22nd August,
  • Oulton Park Gold Cup 28/29/30th August, this year Oulton Park are making a charge, with 50% reduction = weekend pass is £17.50 per/person. If you would like to put your name down for any events do let me know.
  • Valentines Day Run, Sadly we will be missing  this year.
  • Drive it Day 25th April, Fraser, already organised a route for last year, so hopefully we could use then or even later in the year ?
  • Leighton Hall (Cumbria) Classic Car Show 4th July
  • Shelsley Walsh Nostalgic Classic 17/18 July ( weekend away?)
  • Silverstone Classic 30th July to 1st August
  • Preston Classics in the Park August, no firm date as yet
  • Club weekend away in September. Any idea where you would like to go?  North ,South, East or West.

There is just a few ideas to kick us off, as we do not know what will be going ahead, if you have any thoughts or know of events that have fixed a date, do let me know, be good to at least have somethings to look forward to this year.

We look forward to hearing your thought and ideas on the night.

Cheers, Neil

Your short story for club Magazine.

by Robert Neil McLeod

Hello.

Hope you are all keeping well.

At our last Zoom Meeting and email that I sent out afterwards, I was asking if anyone would like to send me a short story on what they have been doing on your Spridget during lockdown. This I will send to our Magazine editor Neil, for printing in the March edition, under the heading of, North West area members Report page or pages, the more the merrier.

If you have something to send me, please do ASAP.

Again we will be having a Club night Zoom Meeting on Wednesday 10th February at 8pm, detail of how to join in will be sent out a week before.

Take care and be safe.

Neil & Shelley
