Merry Christmas

by Richard Wharmby

Good afternoon all,

After a tough 2020 for activities in our club lets hope we can plan for a better 2021. The club has its Midget 60 party in June and with some luck we might be able to start our monthly meets again next year.

If any members have any Midget / Sprite related write up’s, pictures or articles for our area page in Mascot, then please drop the details to me on an email.

I am also looking to do member of the month where i will sort a few questions for members to answer and put them into our Mascot page.

It just leaves me to wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Stay Safe

Richard

Hello fellow Mascavites,

Who would have thought it? Our final club night for 2020 would be the March meeting at the Wishing Well. Certainly, all has not been ‘well’ since, even though we have all been ‘wishing’ for a solution. Should we have dropped something down the well with a few well chosen words? Too late now, 2020 has all but vanished with barely a turn of a wheel of a Spridgley thing. At least this current situation is one that can’t be blamed upon the motorist or our environmentally unfriendly hobby, but no doubt someone will have a go at us for it in time! With no sign of a return to normal service in the near future, I can do no more than to wish you well for Christmas and the new year. Let us hope that it won’t be too long before we can all meet up and enjoy our cars once again. Stay safe, stay well, stay happy.

Best wishes,

Terry

Yorkshire Area Meeting – January 18th

A little bit different this month… We’re combining the meeting with a Brewery Tour…
http://brewers-pride.co.uk/about/
The Pub gets busy quickly, so please be there as close to opening time as possible (Midday). We’ll try to meet in the Back Room where there is plenty of space and tables… Food here is good, generous and not expensive (very Yorkshire)… At 2.00pm we’ll have our Brewery Tour (£10.00 per head) which includes a tasting of three very different Beers (3 x 1/2 pint just so the drivers are aware).
https://www.ossett-brewery.co.uk/
We have been allocated Parking for Midgets and Sprites (or other classics) should you wish to bring yours along for the whole event from Midday at the Brewery (follow signs).
Looking forward to seeing as many people there as possible… 🙂

Please RSVP for this as we need numbers…

Happy Christmas!

Happy Christmas!

by ian cooke

I would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all at some point in the New Year.

Please make your ideas for club events known and we can try to cater for them over the year. Most events are discussed at the monthly meetings and we tend to work with whoever is there, so events can tend to appear a little biased when it comes to their application. Please do not be put off attending if your car is off the road – there are usually spare seats going if it is a car run anyway.

Seasons Greetings from Ian Cooke, Notts + Derby area rep.

HELMINGHAM HALL VISIT AUG 2ND 2020

by Graham Kirkup

Hi all,

At our last club meeting it was agreed that we would visit Helmingham Hall near Stowmarket instead of our usual visit to Higham Ferrers on Sunday August 2  as recommended by Nigel and Diane.

From their website it is certainly a glorious Hall and grounds, and I have made a provisional booking via their booking form on line, entry fee thought to be £8 at the gate. Period dress is encouraged.

All the usual fascilities are available on site 12:00- 7pm.

Post code IP14 6EF.  via A14 then A140- B1078-B1077 46 miles approx from Cambridge.

It is understood that whilst Higham has been a good venue and run, it is as well to explore other venues as a matter of interest.

Hope to see many of you before then, particularly at the Christmas lunch on Dec15th.

Cheers

Graham Kirkup

CLUB MEETING THIS THURSDAY 14TH – CHRISTMAS LUNCH SUN DEC15

by Graham Kirkup

Hi all,

Just a note about  club meeting, Xmas lunch and tenpin bowling.

Christmas lunch is booked for Sunday December 15 at 12:30 at the White Swan Conington, come to the meeting Thursday or contact Chris or myself to book a place at this friendly informal event as soon as poss. please.

For those who have booked to play tenpin bowling at the Pidley complex Saturday Nov 23 first match 5pm I hope you can witness me beating Maggie’s score again, see you all there, and for the pre-booked meal afterwards. Nigel (probably Dianne) has paid for the match fees in advance so we will need to  refund her £8 per person on the night.

Happy motoring

Graham/Maggie
