Online Classic Motor Show

by Alan Pritchett

Hi Everyone

As you are no doubt aware, this year’s Classic Motor Show at the NEC is not happening due to the COVID 19 pandemic, so the shows organisers have put together an online version to be shown on Facebook  from 09:00 on Saturday 14th November and you are all invited, free of charge, to have a look and see what they have to offer, over 60 car clubs will be featured.

During the day they will be raising awareness of the charity Sporting Bears’ activities and asking virtual attendees to donate what they can. As they hope to raise as much money as possible for Sporting Bears’ deserving children’s charities (see list below).

Whilst the show organisers realise that many are struggling during this unprecedented time, they would greatly appreciate it if you felt able to make a donation.  You can either:

  • Donate now via the Sporting Bears Just Giving page
  • Or, if you are able to make a pledge of over £100, you will get a special shout out from Mike Brewer during the Online Edition on Saturday!

Simply email with how much you pledge to give, along with a short message.  They will arrange for your pledge to be collected after the 14th.

The Charities supported by the Sporting Bears are:-

Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS)

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice (Middlesbrough)

Chestnut Tree House (Sussex)

Rainbows Children’s Hospice (Loughborough)

Julia’s House Children’s Hospice

Good afternoon Spridgeteers,

I hope you are all keeping well under these strange times we are in. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year and we’ll be able to get out and about in our cars and start our monthly meets again. We also have our clubs Midget 60 event next year which fingers crossed will be able to go ahead along with many other events.

If you have any events that you think the Notts & Derby’s MASC members might be interested in , then please let me know and we can add it to an events diary.

I am also happy for members to send me any articles or write ups on restorations etc for future Notts & Derby’s Mascot Area report. my contact details can be found in Mascot.

Take Care and Stay Safe

Zoom Club Night Wednesday 11th November 2020 at 8pm

by Robert Neil McLeod

Hello Fellow Spridgeteers.

Well another major event in our calendar that we have had to miss, the Halloween Run, this pandemic covid 19 is taking it’s toll, a year of events almost wiped out, though some of us did manage to enjoy the roads of Scotland with a weekend break to Dumfries, when we were so lucky with the weather and just missing the rule of six coming in just as the weekend was over.

Your committee in the North West is still busy organizing MG Midget 60 for June 2021 and is plough on with the event and keeping our fingers crossed that the pandemic is under control by then.

Last month was Zoom Quiz night  with Mike and Karen doing a great job in testing us with a very good set of question, The winners were Derek and Nesta with a sore of 42 out of 50, they will be your quiz masters next year.

So to this month, you will by now realise, we will be having another Zoom meeting on Wednesday 11th November at 8pm, do try to join us as the Kilton Inn is still out of bounds. Below are the details of the Zoom meeting.
