Hello fellow Mascavites,

The word is out that Midget 60, The Big Weekend scheduled for June this year has been postponed. A sad but very sensible decision in view of where we are within the Covid-19 pandemic. A new date of 1st-3rd July 2022 has been posted when hopefully, the world be be a much safer place to got out and play with again.

Those who have booked for the 2021 date will be contacted shortly to explain the options available to them.

Regards to all,

Terry

Hello again fellow Mascavites,

We seem to have a daily spares market brewing. Today, Alan Lo is offering a very nice Ashley GT fibreglass bonnet that he currently uses as a garden ornament. The bonnet is in good shape and comes with the original headlight covers, rather like the early Jaguar E type. Collection from Bristol, its yours for £250. For further info and photos, please contact Alan  07474 343643 or email  –  alan.lo.uk@gmail.com

I can hardly wait to see what we have for Thursday.

Hello fellow Mascavites,

“Now what is he selling?” you may be thinking, Well, I’m not. Instead, Frank Allen is. A set of 4 Minator 5X13 alloy wheels (Minilite lookalikes) for a Sprite or Midget. Pretty well unblemished condition with a set of wheel nuts. Photos available upon request. Asking £300 or very near offer.

Frank Allen – 07747 633567 or 01454 774208. Frampton Cotterell

Otherwise, no news is good news, and I have no bad news.

Hello fellow Mascavites,

At last, we have good cause to be optimistic about the way ahead. No doubt there will be much scheming and plotting in dark corners on how we will rejoin life as we used to know it. For sure, we will not be speculating on this and will remain on the safe and sensible side of caution in the meantime.

Once again, abusing my privileged position as your area rep, I use this opportunity to offer you, my fellow local members, stuff what is getting in my way. No silly prices, make me an offer, give me a laugh and take it away, we have –    Windscreen in frame with pillars 1964 onwards                                                  Frogeye carbs HI on manifold and air filters                                                        Box of HS2 carbs and bits, manifolds etc.                                                            Frogeye doors                                                                                                      Original cast iron exhaust manifold 1964 onwards

Loss of storage means I am fighting for space so no silly prices but you will need to collect.

Stay safe, stay well, stay patient, we will soon be picking holes in each others Spridgley things and ideas again soon(ish).

Hello fellow Mascavites,

I hope you are all keeping well and staying sane during this continuing pandemic. Not sure that I am as I have to decided to sell my multi shades of red Frogeye Sprite. Yes, its the ‘wind up’ Frogeye that I have owned since 1979.

Well known throughout the club, my Frogeye always draws attention, most of you will know why!  Anyway, impending loss of storeage space means that I have to reduce my Spriting footprint on South Gloucestershire. I would love to see my Sprite go a local new owner, so that I might see it again, rather than vanish altogether off my radar. Hence, I am giving Masc Bristol members a head start before it hits Mascot and the world at large. There is far too much to say about my Sprite to go into here. Just bung me a email for further info or phone number.

Hello fellow Mascavites,

A slightly belated happy new year to you all, despite all the unhappy things surrounding us at the moment. Firstly, I do hope that you are all well and have managed to enjoy Christmas and the new year as best and as safely as you can in these extraordinary times.

Secondly, the news from MASC BRISTOL, OK, there is none. I offer no false hopes of what or when we may be able resume our activities, rest assured, when that does happen, you will soon hear about it. On a good note, I did drive past the Wishing Well just prior of Lockdown 3, its still there and not boarded up.

Masc Bristol HQ has now relocated to the bunker for the duration. Tin hat, thick rubber gloves, two pairs of socks and Jubilee clips around sleeves and trouser legs, I am taking no chances. The walls are thickly insulated with toilet rolls, tins of baked beans and bags of rice. I am quietly confident that I will drive a Sprite again. In the meantime, you can still get in touch with me via the usual channels (see Mascot contacts page).

Stay safe, follow the advice, roll your sleeve up when called, we shall once again leave our mark wherever we may drive, or park up, in our Spridgley things.

Hello fellow Mascavites,

Who would have thought it? Our final club night for 2020 would be the March meeting at the Wishing Well. Certainly, all has not been ‘well’ since, even though we have all been ‘wishing’ for a solution. Should we have dropped something down the well with a few well chosen words? Too late now, 2020 has all but vanished with barely a turn of a wheel of a Spridgley thing. At least this current situation is one that can’t be blamed upon the motorist or our environmentally unfriendly hobby, but no doubt someone will have a go at us for it in time! With no sign of a return to normal service in the near future, I can do no more than to wish you well for Christmas and the new year. Let us hope that it won’t be too long before we can all meet up and enjoy our cars once again. Stay safe, stay well, stay happy.

Best wishes,

Terry
