After another good Zoom meeting when about 15 members joined in, I thought it would be good to pass on to all that could not join us, some of the chat and ideas that came about from the Zoom meeting.
Tatton park has been in touch with me, asking if we would like a club stand for Classic & Performance car Spectacular show on 5th 6th June, also Passion for Power show 21st 22nd August 2021.I have now registered us for a club stand at both events, of course this will very much depend on how this year pans out, but as it’s an outside venue it may well be able to go ahead, If you would be interested in attending one or both of these weekends please let me know and I can add you name and car to the list.
The Practical Classic Restoration Show at the NEC is on the 11th to 13th June is also hoping to go ahead, if you bought a ticket for last year, it will still be valid for this year’s event.
We had quite a discussion via Zoom on various car related issues and what members have been doing on their car during this year of lockdown. I thought it would be great if our area members would like to put a finger to key board and type out a short report on what you have been up to over to last few months. Then if you could pass on to me a short story, I would put them together under the heading of North West Area Members Page or pages. I look forward to receiving your copy, thank you in anticipation.
I can also let you know your area members are still ploughing on with plans of the MG Midget 60 Big Weekend, with 77 entries to date, we are still very hopeful it will be able to go ahead. Nearer the time we will be asking for our members to come forward to help over the weekend in various rolls. Looking ahead it would be a great help to us if you would like to offer up your name to help in some way, so we could then form a list of members we could call on, that would be a massive help. Thank you.
It has been quite a challenge for us all during this pandemic and not being able to meet up at club nights, I know we have all missed this very much, not to mention not being out as a club on run etc. We must now look forward to better times, Shelley and I hope you have all managed to stay well. Our next Zoom meeting will be February 10th at 8pm, do try to join us, always nice to see a now face, as we did this month, when Keith Oglesby join us for the first time, thanks Keith.
Hope all the above helps to keep you informed of what is happening in club your area and we are not standing still, but trying to keep your club as active as we can during this very strange times, any questions please do get in touch, all ways good to hear from you.
A slightly belated happy new year to you all, despite all the unhappy things surrounding us at the moment. Firstly, I do hope that you are all well and have managed to enjoy Christmas and the new year as best and as safely as you can in these extraordinary times.
Secondly, the news from MASC BRISTOL, OK, there is none. I offer no false hopes of what or when we may be able resume our activities, rest assured, when that does happen, you will soon hear about it. On a good note, I did drive past the Wishing Well just prior of Lockdown 3, its still there and not boarded up.
Masc Bristol HQ has now relocated to the bunker for the duration. Tin hat, thick rubber gloves, two pairs of socks and Jubilee clips around sleeves and trouser legs, I am taking no chances. The walls are thickly insulated with toilet rolls, tins of baked beans and bags of rice. I am quietly confident that I will drive a Sprite again. In the meantime, you can still get in touch with me via the usual channels (see Mascot contacts page).
Stay safe, follow the advice, roll your sleeve up when called, we shall once again leave our mark wherever we may drive, or park up, in our Spridgley things.
